Scraping or Graston Therapy

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), commonly known as SCRAPING, is a targeted therapy that uses specialized tools to address soft tissue restrictions, chronic pain, and muscle tightness. By applying controlled pressure with stainless steel instruments, this technique helps break down scar tissue, release adhesions, and promote blood flow to encourage faster healing. Scraping is particularly effective for treating chronic pain, repetitive strain injuries, and tightness in areas like the neck, back, shoulders, and legs.

Benefits of IASTM/Scraping:

  • Reduces scar tissue and adhesions

  • Enhances blood flow and promotes healing

  • Relieves muscle tension and stiffness

  • Improves range of motion and flexibility

  • Supports recovery from chronic pain and injuries

  • Reduces inflammation and swelling

  • Accelerates recovery from sports or repetitive strain injuries

What to Expect
During an IASTM session, a trained therapist uses stainless steel tools to target specific problem areas. Some mild redness or temporary tenderness may occur as circulation is stimulated and adhesions are released. The session is often combined with other therapies, such as deep tissue massage or stretching, to maximize results.
