Integrated Sports & Deep Tissue Therapy

Targeted Bodywork for Pain Releif, Recovery, Mobility, and Performance

At Hatch Sports Therapy, Integrated Sports & Deep Tissue Therapy brings together the best parts of sports massage, deep tissue therapy, stretch therapy, cupping, and instrument-assisted soft tissue work into one focused session.

This is not a spa massage.

Each session is designed for people who want purposeful, anatomy-based bodywork that addresses how the body moves, where it feels restricted, and what may be contributing to ongoing discomfort or limited performance. Whether you are training for an event, managing chronic neck or back tension, recovering from hard workouts, or simply trying to stay active, the goal is to help your body move with less restriction and feel more prepared for the demands of daily life.

A More Complete Approach to Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Therapy

Traditional sports massage often focuses on activity-related soreness, recovery, and performance. Deep tissue therapy often focuses on stubborn muscle tension, chronic tightness, and deeper layers of soft tissue.

At Hatch Sports Therapy, these approaches are integrated into one customized session.

Instead of treating sports massage and deep tissue therapy as separate services, we combine them with other soft tissue techniques when appropriate. This allows each session to be shaped around your body, your goals, and what you are dealing with that day.

Your session may include:

Deep Tissue Therapy

Deep tissue therapy uses slower, more focused pressure to address areas of chronic tension, muscle guarding, and soft tissue restriction. The goal is not simply to apply more pressure. The goal is to work with the tissue in a way that feels productive, specific, and appropriate for your body.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is useful for athletes, active adults, and people who place repeated demands on their bodies. Sessions may focus on recovery, mobility, tissue quality, and preparation for training or competition. You do not need to be a competitive athlete to benefit from this type of work.

Stretch Therapy

Assisted stretching may be used to assess mobility, reduce guarding, and improve how joints and muscles move together. This is especially helpful for tight hips, hamstrings, calves, shoulders, and backs that feel stuck or restricted.

Myofascial Decompression / Cupping

Cupping may be used to gently lift and mobilize tissue, support better tissue glide, and create a different type of input than compression-based massage. It can be especially useful when an area feels dense, stuck, or difficult to address with hands-on pressure alone.

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization / Scraping

Scraping, also known as IASTM or Graston-style therapy, may be used to address soft tissue restrictions, scar tissue sensitivity, tendon irritation patterns, or areas that need more precise input. It is often paired with movement, stretching, or deep tissue work.

What Makes This Session Different?

The session is built around what your body needs, not a preset routine.

We may look at posture, movement patterns, muscle tone, mobility, and the areas where you feel pain, tightness, or restriction. From there, the work is adjusted in real time. Some sessions may be slower and more focused. Others may include more stretching, cupping, scraping, or sports recovery work.

The goal is not to chase symptoms. The goal is to understand what may be contributing to the issue and use the right combination of techniques to help your body move and feel better.

What to Expect During Your Session

Your session starts with a brief conversation about what you are feeling, what you have been doing, and what you want to work on.

From there, we may assess how your body is moving before beginning hands-on treatment. The session may include deep tissue therapy, sports massage, assisted stretching, cupping, scraping, or a blend of several techniques.

Pressure is always adjusted to the individual. Productive bodywork does not need to feel punishing. Some areas may feel tender, especially if they have been tight or irritated for a long time, but the goal is useful pressure, not unnecessary pain.

After the session, you may receive simple suggestions for movement, stretching, hydration, or follow-up care based on what was addressed.
